Dyker Heights is in the southwest corner of Brooklyn between Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, and Gravesend Bay. It’s a wealthy, suburban-like neighborhood, known for its elaborate Christmas decorations and Queen Anne residential architecture. The most prominent example of this original architecture is Saitta House, representative of the original planning and design of the neighborhood’s houses. Saitta House is on the National Register of Historic Places. About half of the original homes remain, while the others have been rebuilt into new Mediterranean style villas, condos, and family homes. The neighborhood also has Dyker Beach Golf Course and Dyker Beach Park, and it is home to TV actor Scott Baio.
